MACS FACTORY NEW AMMUNITION:

.270 Winchester, 130 Grain Nosler Ballistic Tip Bullet

MACS RELOADS, .270 Winchester, 130 Grain Nosler Ballistic Tip Bullet.

MACS FACTORY NEW AMMUNITION: New .270 Winchester with Nosler 130 Grain Ballistic Tip Bullets. The .270 Winchester (6.8x65mm) was developed by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1923 and unveiled in 1925 as a chambering for their bolt action Winchester Model 54. The cartridge is based upon the .30-03 (the longer parent case for the .30-06 Springfield. When loaded with a bullet that expands rapidly or fragments in tissue, this cartridge delivers devastating terminal performance, including remote wounding effects known as Hydrostatic shock.

The .270 Winchester became a very popular deer cartridge due to the widespread praises of gunwriter Jack O’Conner who used the cartridge for 40 years and espoused its praise on the pages of Outdoor Life. Driving a 130 Grain bullet at approximately 3140 ft/s, (later reduced to 3060 ft/s the cartridge demonstrated high performance at the time of its introduction and was marketed as being suitable for long range shooting on most big game. Two additional bullet weights were soon introduced: a 100-grain hollow point bullet for Varmint shooting, and a 150-grain bullet for larger deer, elk and moose in Big-game hunting.

While not an immediate success, over the succeeding decades and especially in the post WW2 period, the .270 Winchester attained great popularity among gun owners and hunters, ranking it among the most popular and widely used cartridges worldwide. Internationally, firearms manufacturers now offer this chambering in all firearm varieties.  The .270 Winchester is a very versatile caliber, accurate and effective for hunting medium to large size game.  It is for use in quality manufactured firearms in good condition.  Like all of our quality new and reloaded ammunition, we recommend that you not use this ammunition in firearms manufactured by Rubbermaid, Tupperware, Glock or Mattel.

This ammunition is manufactured with the Nosler .270 Caliber, 130 Grain Ballistic Bullet.  Nosler Ballistic Tip Hunting bullets have been trusted by hunters for nearly 25 years. They are precision made and individually inspected for the utmost quality which translates to incredible accuracy with every shot. The heavy jacket base prevents bullet deformation during firing and holds together at extreme velocities as well as a polycarbonate tip that resists deformation in the magazine and initiates expansion upon impact.  The bullet's mid-section keeps it together at any velocity until impact, and a uniform, pure lead core eliminates possible imbalance and erratic flight caused by air pockets.
